Default spamming Internet Marketing Singapore forums

While participation is highly encouraged on the IMS forums, spamming, especially upon first joining is highly frowned on.

I have helped a new member who has just joined the forum to reflect on the consequences of their actions by giving them a 3 day cooling period.

We'd like you to choose to adopt a healthy line of forum participation when you return.

ps: tks jhong ren for the notification

i thinking spamming means...posting 3 similar threads or more to various discussion topics...repeating the same thing, phrased in the exact manner and telling members to click on their links so that they can selll something or advertise something...

this is how i define spamming la..

of course, stuart and andrew are the best person to answer

my two cents worth

spamming =
1) repeating the same topic in multiple categories
2) posting unrelated content (eg. posting the URL for your custom made jewellery shop in the business building section, --unless you have a strong internet marketing component).
3) blatantly promoting some seminar or inserting your affiliate product.
4) URL spamming/linkbaiting - unnecessary insertion of URLs into your posts for SEO or other dubious purposes.

All the admins/mods here have at least 10 years of experience with dialup BBSes/IRC/IM (instant messenger)/forum/MMPOGs spaces.
Though we're not psychic (or at least we won't confess to it now), we are able to deduce the intentions of most posters.

so we probably have seen many of the 'tactics' employed by spammers.
[and posts like "oh, i was recommended to this site by my friend and is it interesting, so i wanted to share with you [insert affiliate link]... is quite a lame tactic too]

If you want to promote something, do it first to help your fellow IMS members, then if you do make some affiliate income as a bonus, all the power to you.

If you want to establish yourself here (or on another forum/blog/website), you might find it useful to read:

Or may I simply put it this way...

If you are posting, contrary to the general cyber environment, with the intention of benefiting yourself, that's spamming...be it single post or multiple posts.
