After much contemplation and wondering if people really are coming here to learn or to spam the forums (and knowing we can't really stop them) I've implemented a simple strategy:

- We welcome questions
- If I spot an account attempting to spam something or do something irrelevant (like forex trading or promoting some mobile phone) the account will not even be banned - it will be deleted.
- Those who are helping to spot and report useless posts, please also look out and laud those who are giving useful ones.
- upgraded a few trusted members to Moderator status.

i wonder what "goals/objectives" do they really obtain? i mean by spamming?

maybe we should ask them whats their CTR for spamming?

hmm.. those who create new accounts and spam prolly won't care about their accounts getting deleted.. since they prolly don't intend to return.. it's like a hit and run case. Is there a bot for creating forum accounts and spamming?

but anyway, yeah I do fully agree that these spammers should be curbed and be barred!

Haha well not sure about the CTR for spamming. But what to do, everyone wants the easy way out.

Nope, I'm sure there are plenty of account creation software out there. Even if not in public.

Hit and run is common... but it's ok I suppose after we weed them out.

very impt to weed such accounts out to keep the forum tidy ... I am a forum administrator myself ... many of such accounts created by bots ... mine is on phpbb and I implemented anti bot patch but on and off still get it and if they spam .. there is no excuse to delete account on site because they deserve it

Any chance to minimize auto creation of accounts ? If that can be done, I suppose you will solve half of the spammers.
